I am a massive sardine fan and grew up eating them. Over the years I have refined what I think is the perfect way to serve them, any time of day.
There are lots of tinned fish brands about at your local deli, they all have their differences, but I am a big fan of The Stock Merchant, which is why I wanted to sell them on our online store. They are wild caught sardines which are then hand filleted and packed. We have their original sardines, their new spicy sardines and their tuna. All are a must try.
How I Serve
- Take them out of the tin and drain the preserving oil
- Place them on your plate and drizzle with fresh lemon juice and zest, capers, paprika, a smashed garlic clove and fresh chilli, then drizzle with fresh olive oil.
- Serve with Pepe Saya Butter on your favourite bread. Today I had it with an AP Bakery baguette.
